ChatGPT: hold onto your horses, healthcare, we’ve got a game changer!
symplr Chief Marketing Office Kristin Russel's byline from Forbes discusses the implications of ChatGPT in healthcare.
Russel said, “The current and future functions of ChatGPT can help healthcare systems maximally use staff and technology in tandem to bridge gaps and increase efficiency. From healthcare operations to patient care to marketing, AI tools will better equip provider organizations to thrive amid macroeconomic pressures and challenging times. Of course, ChatGPT can never replace the talented healthcare professionals who commit their lives day-in and day-out to improving patient care. Rather, AI is a tool that can facilitate the work of healthcare professionals, expand care access, and create a more efficient and effective healthcare system for all.”
Healing the damaged nurse-physician dynamic
Angel Mena, MD, and Ali Morin, MSN, RN
discuss the nurse-physician dynamic and how that affects healthcare in KevinMD.
Mena and Morin said, “Nurses are at the center of the care experience, spending the most one-on-one time with patients and serving an integral role in training future practicing physicians. Looking back at my time as a resident, I often recall a particularly stressful moment during a code when a senior nurse had my back through the entire situation. Experiences such as this help to build long-lasting relationships between resident physicians and nurses, and these crucial connections ultimately foster better patient care.”
Amid economic uncertainty, health systems prioritize ROI
symplr CEO BJ Schaknowski’s byline in MedCity News discussing how health systems are focusing on prioritizing ROI.
Schaknowski said, “The recent economic downturn and decreased hospital margins have proven that healthcare is not recession-proof. In order to move from surviving to thriving, healthcare organizations today need to overcome existential threats posed by unprecedented financial, workforce, competitive, regulatory and operational pressures. As a result, hospitals and health systems must approach healthcare operations differently, do more with less, and make informed investments in technology that will provide the greatest return on investment (ROI).”
