symplr Hosts ‘How to Survive a Joint Commission Audit’ Webcast

HOUSTON – May 26, 2015symplrTM, a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) based healthcare compliance and credentialing solutions, today announced the upcoming webcast titled “How to Survive a Joint Commission Audit.” Part of the symplr Education Series of webcasts focused on best practices for healthcare compliance and credentialing, the webcast will air on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 12 pm CT/1 pm ET.

The Joint Commission works with the healthcare industry to improve care for the public through surveys and audits of healthcare facilities. The Joint Commission conducts several types of surveys including the Conditions of Participation (CoP) required for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. They also survey healthcare facilities in order to provide information for self-improvement and external assessment. Surveys can be “subscribed” and expected and also unannounced. In this webcast, Dr Spiers will prepare attendees for both types of surveys by providing tips to help you deal with a task that might otherwise seem overwhelming. Click here to register.

“The Joint Commission provides a valuable service and accreditation to the healthcare industry, but preparing for their expected audits and being ready for a possible unexpected audit can be daunting,” said Patrick Birmingham, Vice President and General Manager of Provider Management at symplr. “Dr. Spiers’ experience as a surgeon and also as a lawyer offers attendees a unique perspective on what is really required to pass the Joint Commission surveys with flying colors.”
