A 25+ year veteran of the software industry, Rick has held senior executive, marketing and technical positions in a number of leading software companies across a wide range of industries, including systems and database management, application development, healthcare and aerospace. Prior to Joining symplr, Rick was the founder, President and CEO of Idera which he grew to become a multi-national company with a broad product portfolio used by over 12,000 companies worldwide. Before that Rick was Chief Marketing Officer at NetIQ Corporation, VP of Products & Marketing at Mission Critical Software, VP of Marketing at Platinum Technology, and SVP of Marketing at LBMS. Rick has also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence for Austin Ventures, is active as a board member and advisor for a number of early stage companies, and is a recipient of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
General Manager and Vice President, Vendor & General Credentialing
Julie is responsible for managing symplr’s vendor credentialing business, including vendor and general credentialing, visitor management and exclusion screening. In her role, she partners with healthcare organizations to help them achieve their goals in compliance, safety and security, while reducing risk. Prior to joining symplr Julie served in a senior role at ProviderTrust, a leading SaaS provider credentialing company. Previously, she was Vice President of Sales at the National Healthcareer Association, a division of Ascend Learning, a SaaS healthcare credentialing company focused on allied health professionals. Julie received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Valparaiso University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Lipscomb University.
General Manager and Senior Vice President, Payor Enrollment Services
A healthcare industry veteran, with over 20 years in management and executive roles, Patrick has a wide range of experience in hospital, managed care, payer and physician practice operations management. At symplr Patrick is responsible for managing our payer enrollment business operations. Prior to joining symplr Patrick was Chief Operating Officer at MedKinetics, a leading SaaS provider credentialing company, and the founder of Payor Enrollment Services, the industry’s leading solution for accelerated and accurate payor enrollment. Previously, Patrick was National Director, Credentialing and Enrollment Services at HCA Inc., and Director of Managed Care at HCA Physician Services. Prior to HCA Patrick held senior roles within hospital administration, and national PPO and HMO organizations. Patrick holds a BBA and an MBA from Millsaps College.
Vice President, Product Development
Wayne is responsible for the definition and delivery of symplr’s portfolio of Software as a Service products. He has over 30 years experience as a software developer, architect, and executive and has managed large multi-continent development teams to deliver highly scalable SaaS infrastructures and applications. Prior to symplr Wayne ran the software development organization at Idera, a leading provider of systems management software for Windows and Linux environments. Prior to Idera Wayne was Chief Operating Officer at Symbology a Microsoft SharePoint platform provider, VP of Technology at TRE Financial, a leading provider of SaaS solutions for the Tax industry, Director of Software development at Platinum Technology, a billion dollar provider of systems management software, and Development Manager at LBMS a leading provider of process management software.
Vice President, Controller
K.C. is responsible for symplr’s accounting, tax, reporting and compliance activities. He brings 15 years of accounting and finance experience to symplr. Prior to joining symplr, K.C. was the Corporate Controller for Freudenberg Oil & Gas Technologies, a global provider to the oil and gas industry. Previously, K.C. was a Manager with KPMG, LLP in the Audit practice serving a variety of industries. He is a licensed CPA, with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University and a Master in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Tres Thompson brings nearly 30 years of financial, sales and business development experience to symplr. Most recently he served in senior executive positions at Cardtronics, a leading provider of fully integrated ATM and financial kiosk products and services, where he helped lead the company through several mergers and acquisitions and an IPO. Thompson’s experience spans multiple industries including financial services, enterprise software and technology, energy, and private equity and venture capital. He also has international business development and leadership experience and is a licensed CPA. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Trinity University.
General Manager and Vice President, Provider Management
Kyle is responsible for managing symplr’s provider management business for hospital, manager care and payer customers including With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the healthcare industry, Kyle brings deep knowledge in helping customers improve outcomes through advanced technology solutions. Prior to joining symplr, Kyle served as COO at API Healthcare, a GE Healthcare company. Previously, he led strategic client development initiatives at Cerner Corporation. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Engineering Management degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
Vice President, Product Management
Tracey has 20+ years technical and business experience in software marketing, design, development and leadership. At symplr she leads the product management team responsible for the strategy and direction of all symplr products. Tracey joined the symplr organization through the Cactus software merger where she led the roll-out of the next generation Cactus web based Provider Credentialing platform. Prior to Cactus Tracey held multiple senior leadership positions at DST Systems where she led time-critical software product development projects budgeted up to $30M+ with teams of 300+ staff while working with team around the world. Tracey holds a BS in Industrial Psychology with an emphasis in computer science and spent many years as a software developer.
Vice President, Marketing and Sales Operations
Taylor is responsible for the overall marketing strategy and execution across symplr’s product lines with a focus on brand awareness and lead generation. Additionally, Taylor is responsible for sales operations with the goal of optimizing sales productivity and results. Previously, he was the Director of Services at symplr where he oversaw the implementation and account management teams for vendor and general credentialing with a focus on customer success. Before joining symplr, Taylor was the Founder and CEO of SupportChoice, a rapidly growing remote tech support company providing white labeled support for consumer software companies and cloud-based desktops to small and medium sized businesses. He holds a BA in Business Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Rice University with honors.
