NCQA core credentialing standards are structural requirements that must be met by all organizations, regardless of whether they have clients or delegate services. These standards cannot be delegated and require organizations to present their own documentation. A robust quality improvement (QI) infrastructure is necessary, including regular performance assessments, goal setting, KPI tracking, and data-driven improvements. Organizations must also protect the integrity of credentialing information and ensure clear policies are in place for any delegation of responsibilities. Importantly, even when delegating, the organization remains fully accountable and must evaluate delegate performance to maintain compliance.
