Past, Present, and Future of Provider Credentialing

Listen in to guest speakers Kathy Matzka and Ann Hawkins for an informative discussion of the evolution of credentialing and privileging over the past 30 years, with a look to the future. We discussed current hospital credentialing requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as well as mechanisms to meet these requirements. Although many facilities have credentialing software, they often do not take the time to participate in training on the many options the software provides, or they don’t have time to set up the database. We discussed overcoming these obstacles to optimize utilization of credentialing software.
