The focus of this Health Technology Assessment is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for treatment of non–treatment-resistant unipolar major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. Evaluation of rTMS in adults with treatment-resistant MDD is beyond the scope of this assessment.
