Highlighting nursing stories inspired and the powerful impact they have on patients, families, and other caregivers.
Honoring our beloved Chief Nursing Officer, Karlene Kerfoot, who passed in October 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. A visionary leader and compassionate friend, Karlene dedicated 40 years to championing nurses and patients. Her impact lives on through her work with symplr since 2011 and her incredible partnership with The DAISY Foundation, where she served as a Board member and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
In 2023, Karlene helped inspire the #MomentsthatMatter program, building on her Beyond Gratitude Campaign with DAISY and AONL. Her joy, generosity, and commitment to excellence will continue to inspire us all. We will honor her by carrying forward her passion for nursing.

At symplr, we have had the privilege of working with The DAISY Foundation for many years. We are humbled by the opportunity to affiliate with such an important cause, and proud that so many of our customers honor their nurses with the meaningful recognition The DAISY Award symbolizes.
“Great nursing happens in the moments in between. The more we can support these sacred moments, then the better the outcomes for patients and for our nurses. We want people to think about how we can give time back to nurses, so they can be the nurse they always wanted to be.”
