symplr Helps Medical Staff Professionals Understand Physician Assistants: Applicable Rules, Regulations in Monthly Provider Management Webcast Series

HOUSTON - JULY 7, 2015symplrTM, a leading provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) based healthcare compliance and credentialing solutions, today announced the upcoming webcast titled “Physician Assistants: Rules, Regulations and Realities.” Part of the symplr Education Series focused on Provider Management, the webcast will air on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 12 pm CT/1 pm ET.

Physician assistants (PAs) have been shown to provide quality, cost effective care and have become integral members of the provider workforce. However, the rules and regulations applied to the PA profession are often misunderstood. This session will dispel the myths and urban legends by providing detailed information on PA scope of practice, credentialing, certification maintenance requirements and competency assessment, payor enrollment concerns, and resources available for the Medical Staff Professional.

“PAs have become an integral part of healthcare delivery in practices and facilities across the country, yet certification, credentialing, privileging, scope of practice and ongoing evaluation requirements remain unclear to many,” said Patrick Birmingham, Vice President and General Manager of Provider Management at symplr. “Tricia Marriott has served as a PA for nearly 30 years and is also an expert on the legal requirements for this medical role. She’ll update attendees on the rules and regulations as well as current and evolving practice associated to the ever growing role PAs play in our healthcare delivery system.”
