Sepp Straka entered 2023 already a rising star on the PGA TOUR, and his performance on the TOUR in 2023 cemented his status among the game’s elite. A two-time tour winner, his stellar play secured him a coveted roster spot on Team Europe for the 2023 Ryder Cup. Add two runner-up finishes at The Open Championship and the Hero World Challenge, it’s evident that Sepp will be a prominent presence on the PGA TOUR for years to come.
Born in Austria, Sepp’s family moved to Georgia when he was 14. He went on to play collegiate golf at the University of Georgia, where he earned All-Conference recognition and helped his team win the 2016 Southeastern Conference Championship.
Sepp made his PGA TOUR debut in 2019 and his breakthrough performance came in February 2022, when he won The Honda Classic. With this win, Sepp became the first Austrian to win a PGA TOUR event. In July 2023, he captured his second tour win at the John Deere Classic, which included a final round score of 62. His exceptional performance in 2023 propelled him to a noteworthy 14th position in the PGA TOUR’s season-long FedExCup Rankings and a career-high 18th position in the World Golf Rankings.
Sepp represented Austria in the 2020 Summer Olympics and will look to compete again in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
