Mr. Eghbali co-founded Clearlake in 2006. Prior to co-founding Clearlake, Mr. Eghbali was a private equity investor at TPG where he focused on buyouts, turnarounds and other transformational investments in the business services, communications/media and technology sectors. Mr. Eghbali started his career in investment banking in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies & Co. and in the Technology Group at Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Eghbali currently serves on the Board of Directors of several Clearlake portfolio companies, including Diligent, EagleView, Ivanti Software, JetSmarter, Lytx, NetDocuments, Perforce, Provation, Proven Brands, and symplr. Mr. Eghbali graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Mehrotra joined Clearlake in 2010. Prior to joining Clearlake, he was a Principal at Silver Lake Partners, where he focused on investments in technology and technology enabled industries. Before that, Mr. Mehrotra was a Principal at Tennenbaum Capital Partners where he focused on special situations investments. Prior to Tennenbaum, he worked in investment banking in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Mehrotra currently serves on the Board of Directors of several Clearlake portfolio companies, including EagleView, Ivanti Software, MetricStream, NetDocuments, Perforce, Provation, symplr, and Syncsort. He also serves on the board of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM). Mr. Mehrotra graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University, where he was also a Mayfield Fellow, and he received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Claude Burton is a Partner at SkyKnight Capital. Prior to SkyKnight, he held C-Level roles at Conductor and Mandic Cloud Solutions, working alongside Riverwood Capital. Claude was also an investor at Tarpon Investments and part of the private equity team at New Mountain Capital, where he was instrumental in launching New Mountain’s debt business in the fall of 2008. He began his career at JP Morgan’s Investment Bank in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. He served as an advisor to the President’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform (Simpson-Bowles Commission) in 2010.
Claude received a B.S. in Economics from Duke University, and he is a graduate of the joint degree program at Harvard Business School (M.B.A.) and Harvard Kennedy School (M.P.P.) where he was a George Leadership Fellow.
Mr. Huber joined Clearlake in 2015. Prior to joining Clearlake, he was an investment professional at Thoma Bravo, where he focused on leveraged buyouts in the software, technology and technology enabled services industries. Prior to Thoma Bravo, he was an investment banking professional at William Blair & Company, LLC in the technology group. Mr. Huber currently serves on the Board of Directors of several Clearlake portfolio companies, including NetDocuments, OnShift, Perforce, Provation, symplr, and Syncsort. Mr. Huber graduated with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics-Economics and Literary Arts from Brown University.

A 25+ year veteran of the software industry, Rick has held senior executive, marketing and technical positions in a number of leading software companies across a wide range of industries, including systems and database management, application development, healthcare and aerospace. Prior to Joining symplr, Rick was the founder, President and CEO of Idera which he grew to become a multi-national company with a broad product portfolio used by over 12,000 companies worldwide. Before that Rick was Chief Marketing Officer at NetIQ Corporation, VP of Products & Marketing at Mission Critical Software, VP of Marketing at Platinum Technology, and SVP of Marketing at LBMS. Rick has also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence for Austin Ventures, is active as a board member and advisor for a number of early stage companies, and has been awarded Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year.
Director, CFO & COO
As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Tres Thompson brings nearly 30 years of financial, sales and business development experience to symplr. Most recently he served in senior executive positions at Cardtronics, a leading provider of fully integrated ATM and financial kiosk products and services, where he helped lead the company through several mergers and acquisitions and an IPO. Thompson’s experience spans multiple industries including financial services, enterprise software and technology, energy, and private equity and venture capital. He also has international business development and leadership experience and is a licensed CPA. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Trinity University.
Mr. Groen joined Clearlake in 2015. Prior to joining Clearlake, he was a Partner at Armin Partners where he served as a consultant to Clearlake portfolio companies, Calero Software, Mformation and NetMotion. Prior to Armin, Mr. Groen was an Associate Director at HgCapital, focusing on leveraged buyouts in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors and previously served on the board of Sitel Semiconductor. Before that, he was a founding member of the Draper Fisher Jurvetson Growth Fund, a fund within the DFJ affiliate network focused on later stage technology investments. Prior to that, he was an associate in the technology group at TA Associates and worked in the Technology Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies & Co. Mr. Groen currently serves on the Board of Directors of OnShift and symplr. Mr. Groen graduated with a B.A. in International Economics with an Accounting specialization and a minor in German from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jordan Milich is a Principal at SkyKnight Capital. Prior to SkyKnight, he worked as an investor at Aretex Capital Partners and at Dragoneer Investment Group. Previously, Jordan worked as an Associate at New Mountain Capital after starting his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley. Jordan received a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Abraham joined Clearlake in 2017. Prior to joining Clearlake, he was an investment professional at Marlin Equity, where he evaluated and executed investments in the software and tech-enabled services sectors. Before that, Mr. Abraham was an investment banker in the Financial Sponsors Group at Barclays. Mr. Abraham currently serves on the Board of Directors of symplr. Mr. Abraham graduated with a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
