This year the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) hosted their annual Leading and Living Conference in the newly renovated Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines, Iowa. This event is used to bring all levels of hospital and healthcare staff together in a single place to exchange best practices, ideas and information. There is also the opportunity for vendors to “set up shop” and interact with attendees of the conference during a trade show.
An IHA board member confirmed the conference recorded a record number of people pre-registering for this year’s event with over 1,700 people pre-registering. The keynote speech with the most slated to attend was on Wednesday, with over 1,100 people expected to attend.
In tandem with the conference is also a trade show that happened on Wednesday where attendees could walk amongst the booths and visit with vendors. Everyone from construction firms to nursing stations to VCS showed up to support IHA and have a wonderful time. The VCS booth was affectionately nicknamed “Texas” due to the apparent accent and many miles traveled that made them unique.
All in all it was a fantastic turn out without the slightest of a hitch! VCS is thankful for the opportunity to support IHA and looks forward to other opportunities with them in the future!
